2024 Rhotillion Debutante Ball

On Sunday June 9th at the Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club,  the Lambda Iota Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. proudly hosted its Rhotillion Debutante Ball, a celebration of grace, poise, and academic achievement.

Friends, family, and esteemed guests gathered to witness four accomplished young women step into the spotlight. Each debutante, radiant in their gowns, represented the epitome of excellence and community service, embodying the core values of Sigma Gamma Rho.

The Rhotillion commenced with welcome remarks by the host Natasha Wilkins that underscored the significance of sisterhood and scholarship within the sorority. It was followed by a beautiful dance by the debutantes and their escorts

As the debutantes were formally presented to the audience, their poised demeanor and confident smiles illuminated the room. Throughout the evening the debutantes demonstrated their diverse interests through captivating and inspiring speeches, reflecting their commitment to academic success and personal growth.

The Ball concluded with a jubilant celebration, where guests mingled and danced, exchanged congratulations, and embraced the spirit of unity that defines Sigma Gamma Rho.

The Lambda Iota Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. looks forward to continuing its tradition of empowering young women and celebrating academic excellence through future events like the Rhotillion Debutante Ball. 

Meet our 2024 Rhotillion Debutantes!

Debutante Jessica Belcher.  

Jessica is the niece of Soror Timmeka Belcher. She is a recent Cane Ridge High School in Nashville Tennessee graduating with Honors and perfect attendance . She was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and has been cheering since 8th grade. She has been a Rhoer Club member since 2021. When Jessica is not in school or work, she enjoys drawing, painting, dancing, and listening to music. She also has a love for shopping and eating. Her favorite foods are sushi, shrimp alfredo, and Chipotle burritos. This fall, Jessica plans to pursue a degree in nursing with a minor in dance at Middle Tennessee State University.

Debutante Ashley Briggs

Ashley is the daughter of Soror Kristin Riley and Ladarrion Briggs. She is a rising senior who excels as an AP and Honors student at Northeast High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. Not only is she the cheer team captain, but she also participates in the BETA club and served as the Junior class representative on the student council government. Ashley is concurrently studying cosmetology as a dual enrollment student and has been an active member of the Rhoer Club since 2021. Her future plans include attending an HBCU, at Southern University and FAMU as her top choices. She aims to pursue a doctoral degree in psychology. In her free time, Ashley enjoys dancing and painting.

Debutante Trinity Garland

Trinity is the daughter of Sheena Ellis and Monta’ Garland and the youngest of four.  She is a rising senior who excels as an Honors student at The Pearl Cohn Entertainment High School in Nashville, Tennessee, where she serves as the captain of the varsity cheer team. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Trinity enjoys sleeping, eating, and spending money. Her aspirations include attending TCAT University to study cosmetology and pursuing a degree in criminal justice at the University of Memphis. Trinity is set to graduate high school with a cosmetology license in the spring of 2025.

Debutante Kristen Watson

Kristen Watson is the daughter of Kristi Cowan and Benjamin Watson III. She is a rising Senior at Nashville School Of Arts utilizing her gift of Creative Writing. She is a part of the Upsilon Sigma Rhoer Club in Nashville, Tennessee. Her hobbies are: Writing, Reading, Baking, and Gaming. She enjoys playing with her dog and trying new things whether it's within the city or out of town. For college, Kristen wants to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA majoring in screenwriting. Her gift of words speaks volumes with a pen and paper, so her dream career would be a journalist and/or screenwriter to enhance her writing skills. Kristen loves to do photography and capture little things that people normally would not notice. She also considers herself as a funny, compassionate, selfless yet straight to the point person.
